A very wise man said one day…
‘The rules of soccer are very simple.
If it moves then kick it,
if it doesn’t kick it until it does.’ Said by Phil Woosnam.
My favorite feeling
When kicking a ball patterned with black and white
I kick it with all my might
The sound
The sound the ball makes when it glides around the net.
For once in my life
I feel alive.
Cheers,
Coming from the crowd,
All screaming my name.
For this is the reason why I play this wonder game,
People from all around,
Watch me as I
Turn, spin and kick the soccer ball into the net.
Moments come
And moments go,
For life to move on
You must let it all go.
The field is like an open plain
Where I live and play my lifelong game
We play a game for the love of life and war
But yet we’re still to find what we are fighting for.
A bell rings
It’s the beginning of a new day
Children pile through the doors
And head their own way.
Words and language are taught here
Students from east to west are brought here
For their education
Until their graduation, into the real world
My friends and I have fun times together
We laugh, play and text
We all like to hang out whenever,
I don’t really care for what comes next
It doesn’t matter as long as we are together,
We are best friends forever.
I remember the great ocean blue
Moving under us as we flew above
Flying from country to country
Seeing people I never knew
And calling them family
These chores don’t really appeal to me but they have to be done.
In the winter or during winter break,
We shovel off the porch which can take hours,
Shoveling snow here and there off the porch and into the air
I have a family of many
My sisters, much older than I
My brothers, some older some younger
And I right in the middle
I remember the feeling of being weightless
As the plane took off into the sky,
I remember grasping my seat
as I held on for dear life
It was frightening but also interesting
Adrenaline, rushing through my veins,
Giving me the first heart racing experience in my life.
This year I have many cherished memories
The memories of my friends and enemies
My family members and strangers
Teachers and other students
And everyone I’ve ever met or will meet.
I hope to go to college one day
One where I can play the game I love
I want the crowd to cheer again
And hear my friends shout “we’ve won”
Homework is not the most fun thing to do
Nor is it on the top of anyone’s agenda.
But I also figured out that studying separately spelled out spelled,
Stu – dying in other words was translated into student dying
Although it was very true to only those who believed it true. The more
I had studied the more I died inside
Teachers this year were alright to begin with,
they told you what to do and how to do it,
but then they let you fly on your own to learn what they have taught you,
that is what I expected my high school life to be like.
The last weeks of school have my mind in a fumble,
Many times have I not realized where I was
before my mind was off track thinking about the summer and what lies ahead
But the only excuse of not letting go of our feelings is that we’re just afraid to move on.
I’ve learned that if you think about your past you’ll just keep reliving it.
I imagined that classes would be hard,
but with the help of others I figured out how easy it was to stay on track,’
but soon the track started to slip beneath my feet and I stumbled and fell a couple times,
I‘m still in recovery but I don’t think I can recover by the time school is over.
My friends and family mean the world to me
They help me be the player i want to be,
They help me set goals for my life,
and score goals for the team.
My coach once told me...
if you can’t climb a mountain, you can’t see the view.
I take that into my life daily and that makes me who I am today.
Remember the name,
Remember the number,
Because we might not meet again.
It’s more than just an option… refuse to be forgotten
